Kokomo Layouts

This Free Lance HO scale layout is set in the early 20th century where steam locomotives ruled the rails. All the locomotives are DCC controlled with sound using a Digitrax command station. The two-deck layout features a 290’ single mainline in a 15’ x 37’ area of the basement. The layout is walk around with point-to-point operation and an option for continuous running. The two main yards use iPads with JMRI panels to control turnouts and custom automatic un-couplers operated using accessory decoders and servos. The servo operated turnouts and uncouplers along the mainline are controlled with facia mounted pushbutton controls. The mainline is block occupancy detected using RR-CirKits equipment. The semaphore signals are operated with JMRI using custom decoders with servo activation. The scenery is 60 – 70% complete.
